Visit to Takhat Shri Kesh Garh Sahib
I had an opportunity to visit the birth place of Khalsa during my holidays. here I share some of the pictures
We reached there early morning and this was the first picture I captured

The door of the room where Shasters of Guru Gobind Singh are displayed

Sewadar on duty

On the roof of Takhat Sahib

Inside paintings on the Gumbaz

Stairs taking you up to the top of Kila Anand Garh

view from top of kila Anand Garh- notice a blue Nishan Sahib of nihang singhs

Kila Anand Garh Sahib- walls have been plastered to preseve the structure. If you enlarge the picture you'll notice that a small patch has been left for darshan of what kila must have appeared in Guru's time

Close view of the bricks- kila is made up of. Notice the damage and you'll realize that it was really necessary to plaster the structure. The size of these bricks is small

More pictures can be seen seen on Balbir Singh ji's blog

Back home after a vacation
I was away last week on a holiday. This time we decided to spent most of it in our village in a peaceful way. It was wonderful to be away from mad traffic of Delhi. Here are some pictures...

Divine touch

Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh ji has written many books and wonderful poems. I shall try to share some his poems here. For those of you who may find it difficult to understand here is a short description in English

I would like to change the translation...
Gurjeet Singh has translated it so beautifully and I would every body

It is my plucked mind that is separated from my focus from Lord.
And due to the lost concentration of my mind from my Lord i have lost all my fragrance..meri kamayee.
i was trampled under Maya's feet... my punishment...kaliyuga and gone away... strayed away.
But am thankful to the Lord to gift me that negligible time in which i remembered U O my Lord !

Thank you Gurjeet Singh!
God bless you

Raag Asa Kirtan Darbar

I had got an opportunity to attend a kirtan darbar in raag asa on 18th November 2006 at Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan, New Delhi. A small booklet was distributed there. Here are some pictures from the booklet. I also got to read a wonderful article on Raag Asa by Dr. Jagir Singh (editor of the monthly ‘Amrit Kirtan’) You can read the scanned article by downloading at this LINK

A part of recordings of this kirtan darbar you can down load HERE

A similar kirtan Darbar was held in March 2004 on Raag Asa, Bhai Avtar Singh ji , Bibi Jaswant Kaur and many others participated. You can down load those live recordings HERE

File photo of Bhai Avtar Singh ji on 4th November 2005 At Bhai Vir Singh Sadan, New Delhi

An artist's imagination- though, those who play the rabab know better but I think the jeel is held in right hand and left hand glides over the strings. But here it is the opposite.
